STAT 100, Section 4: Statistical Concepts and Reasoning

This course is designed to introduce students to the art and science of decision-making in the presence of uncertainty. In taking this course, students will develop an understanding of the reasoning by which findings from sample data can be extended to larger, more general populations. Students will also learn how to evaluate critically the results of studies reported in the popular media and scientific press. Examples and applications from a variety of fields will be emphasized.

• Posted 12-12-2008: I'll hold an office hour on Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 10:30 to 11:30 in 310 Thomas.
• Posted 12-2-2008: Office hour changes: Office hours will switch permanently to Fridays from 1:30-3:30 starting Friday, Dec. 5.
